The U.S. delegation has proposed that Codex prioritize a study on inorganic arsenic for non-cancer effects, but FDA should not wait for that study’s findings before finalizing its arsenic standards for rice, said Tom Neltner, chemicals policy director for the Environmental Defense Fund (EDF).
