Time to resurrect Europe’s hemp industry, says farming body

Prejudice towards the plant must be overcome and the value of non-THC contining hemp should be recognised through clear policy and legislation, European farming body Copa Cogeca has said.

The European tradition of growing and using hemp should be restored and the benefits of the plant should no longer be overlooked, a European farmers’ association said today, adding that the EU should develop a clear legal framework for the plant.
