EU finds low pesticide residues in food, separate study raises concerns about drift

The European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) has published a report on the prevalence of pesticides in food this week whilst a separate study from Italy has raised concerns about pesticide drift to playgrounds and private gardens.

An annual EU report by the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) on pesticide residues in food has found that just under 96% of food samples were free of pesticide residues or contained traces that fall within legally permitted levels. However, a separate study from Italy has raised concerns about the effect of pesticide drift into private gardens and playgrounds.
