EU petition calls for law change to safeguard new plant breeding methods

Petition will open on July 25th to collect signatures for a one-year period.

A European Citizens Initiative (ECI) petition, “Grow scientific progress: crops matter!”, has called for the EU GMO registration Directive (2001/18) to be revised to help facilitate the authorisation of plant products obtained through new breeding techniques (NBTs).
