Malaysia pushes EU to accept palm oil certification scheme in RED II

Trade ministry threatens WTO action if EU does not accept palm oil as having a low ILUC risk

The EU must accept and officially recognise palm oil produced under the Malaysian Sustainable Palm Oil (MSPO) certification schemes as having a ‘low’ risk of indirect land use change (ILUC) under the Renewable Energy Directive (RED II) or it will face a WTO dispute panel over the issue.
