Extra €66m to settle intra-UK row over ‘convergence’ aid funding

Money allows for a rebalancing of the aid payment share-out between the UK nations, primarily by compensating farmers, mainly in England, who would otherwise lose out as a result of the reallocation

The UK government has agreed to increase funding for legacy Pillar One payments by €66.54 million for the first two years after Brexit to settle a long-running dispute over the allocation of CAP ‘convergence’ funding between the four UK nations.
