Scandinavian countries carry out joint control of “gluten-free” products

Vast majority of products labelled “gluten free” comply with the limit value of a maximum of 20 milligrams of gluten per kilogram, the inspections found.

The Scandinavian food safety agencies have worked together to carry out a control campaign of the countries’ gluten-free products. The control campaign found that only 2 of 154 gluten-free products had gluten content above the limit value, while other concerns regarding risk preparedness arose.
