Democrats on the House Appropriations Committee urged USDA’s Office of Inspector General (OIG) to ramp up its review of the $28 billion in trade mitigation aid the Trump administration has doled out to farmers over the past two years and to launch an investigation into why the US subsidiary of Brazilian meatpacking giant JBS has received tens of millions of dollars in trade assistance and federal contracts.
