Continued ag sector stress has led to declines in loan quality, but the Farm Credit System (FCS) is “fundamentally safe and sound,” and new trade agreements should provide positive tailwinds for the sector in 2020, top farm credit officials told the House Appropriations Subcommittee on Agriculture, Rural Development, Food and Drug Administration and Related Agencies Wednesday (Feb. 12).
