Adam Sharpe

Adam Sharpe specializes in a range of topics in the agribusiness sphere including trade, policy and legislation, and the impact of Brexit on the UK and EU farming sectors.

He joined Informa in 2007 and was appointed Editor of Agra Europe in September 2011.

Previously, he was Deputy Editor of food industry title Foodnews and Senior Reporter at the agricultural commodity newsletter The Public Ledger–both now part of IEG Vu.

Before he became a journalist, Adam worked in the marketing sector for a number of leading UK and multinational companies. He has a BA (Hons) degree in management from the University of Brighton.


 

Max Green

Max writes on a range of issues affecting the meat and livestock industry for IEG Policy and IEG Vu. He began overseeing Agra Europe’s coverage of the sector in 2010 after eight years editing other Informa titles.

He previously lived and studied in South America and has worked on specialised meat and animal feed newsletters for Brazil’s Informa Economics FNP and Germany-based FO Licht. He has two Masters degrees – one from the University of London and the other from Brunel University.

As well as market trends, he likes to explore the intersection between trade, politics and regulations on animal health and welfare. He most often writes about developments in the EU, but really enjoys uncovering news from further afield, especially Latin America, Asia and Russia.


 

Timothy Maler

Timothy Maler is a IEG Policy specialist reporter based in Brussels. Born in Toronto, Canada, Timothy has been reporting for Agra Europe since 2013, specialising in EU agriculture and food trade policy, but also covering a wide remit of policy areas.

He has previously had stints in Europe’s capital with the European Parliament and with the Canadian Government’s Mission to the EU, as well as having worked for a period for the UN Food and Agriculture Organisation in Rome.

Timothy is fluent in French and also speaks Italian - having an MBA from the University of Bologna - and Spanish.  


 

Alessandro Mancosu

Alessandro Mancosu is IEG Vu’s Brussels correspondent, specialising in EU agri-food policy and related EU topics.

He has previously written about competition policy, as well as working in marketing for an asset management company. Alessandro has also done an internship as an information assistant at the European Commission, Enterprise and Industry Department.

Born in Sardinia, Italy, Aleesandro is fluent in English, French and Spanish, with a good knowledge of German. He has a Master’s Degree in European Studies from the King’s College London, and a Postgraduate Diploma in Journalism from the London School of Journalism. 

 
 
 

Peter Rixon

Peter Rixon heads up the European Food Law channel on IEG Policy.

As well as covering issues such as changes to the labelling of food, legal debates on food technology, rulings on advertising and developments in nutrition strategy, Peter also focuses on broader questions such as how stakeholders are tackling the obesity epidemic, habitat destruction, socio-ethical sourcing, food-related illness and demands for more localized production.

Peter also hosts webinars and meetings on food-related issues.

Before joining Informa in 2000, Peter worked on UK newspapers covering environmental, health, crime and political issues. Since then he has covered pharmaceuticals, medical technology, clinical trials, political lobbying, animal pharmaceuticals, and GM food in Europe. He was appointed Editor-in-Chief of the EU Food Law publication in 2010.

Joan Murphy is the senior editor in charge of IEG Policy’s US Food Policy channel, where she provides comprehensive reporting on US food regulatory issues.

For more than two decades, she has written for Food Chemical News, covering legislation on Capitol Hill that impacts the food industry and food safety and labeling regulations as they develop in government agencies.

Before joining Informa, she served as a reporter for a public health association newspaper where she wrote on a wide variety of health issues. Before that, she reported on environmental policy issues for Washington, D.C.-based newsletters.


 

Ingrid Mezo

Ingrid Mezo is a specialist news analyst working for IEG Policy’s US Food Policy channel. She covers food policy and regulation for meat, poultry and catfish; food additives and the 'generally recognized as safe' (GRAS) process; and other food-related issues.

Ingrid joined Food Chemical News as a freelancer in 2014, and joined as a staff member in August 2015. She previously covered the medical device industry over a five-year period, having started her journalism career working for a weekly community newspaper.

Separately, Ingrid worked as a veterinary technician for 20 years, primarily in emergency and critical care for dogs and cats.

She is a 2005 graduate of American University, with a dual major in literature and in communications, with a print journalism focus. Prior to that, she studied zoology at the University of Maryland.


 

Margarita Raycheva

Margarita “Maggie” Raycheva is a specialist news analyst working for IEG Policy’s US Food Policy channel. She covers news related to FDA, food labeling and FSMA

She joined Food Chemical News as a freelancer in November 2016 and as a full-time staff member in February 2017. Margarita has 10 years of experience in journalism, including six years of covering education in the United States. She has contributed stories to the Washington Post and a number of statewide publications in Maryland, and produced award-winning pieces on teen jobs and the controversial use of seclusion rooms in schools in the United States.

Margarita holds a bachelor’s degree in journalism, film and broadcasting from Cardiff University and a master’s degree in newspaper, print and online journalism from Syracuse University.


J.R. Pegg

J.R. Pegg joined Agrow as US correspondent in 2013, having written for Informa’s Pesticide and Chemical Policy for seven years prior to that.

He specializes in US policy, legislation and litigation related to pesticides and GM crops.

As a Policy Analyst, he provides clients and subscribers with accurate, concise and timely analysis of events and policies to help them make market and business decisions.

Before he joined Informa in 2011, Roger worked for Farm Journal / Pro Farmer for more than 24 years. There he covered US agriculture, trade and Washington policy, spending more than 10 years working in Washington DC.


 

Richard Morrison

Richard Morrison is based out of the Informa Economics Washington, D.C. office, where he contributes to IEG Policy and other Informa Economics products and client services. He maintains a keen interest in the intersection of politics and economics, a passion of his since before college.

Since joining Informa, Richard has written extensively on the effect that government policy and market dynamics have on the agriculture and food sectors – in the US and globally. Being a Millennial, Richard leads the Washington news team in monitoring and developing items for social media.

He is a native of rural central Virginia and received his bachelor’s degree in economics from George Mason University.

Dr Rejeana Gvillo is a Commodity Analyst on the Crops team within Informa Economics IEG. Her primary focus is to analyse and forecast the global wheat and rice markets in order to limit risk.

Dr Gvillo analyses the global wheat and rice markets by tracking export movement, prices and disappearance.

Dr Alan Bullion is Special Reports and Projects Director for Agribusiness intelligence, publishing one-off reports on the crop protection, animal health and fertilisers sectors.

Alan has worked as a publisher, analyst, journalist and editor for Informa for over 18 years, having previously worked on specialist titles focusing on agriculture and food in Asia, and on organics, ethanol and biodiesel, particularly in Brazil. He also has expertise on the political impact of Brexit on UK agribusiness.

Alan was awarded a PhD by the University of Southampton for a thesis on the civil war and conflict resolution.

He is a former Director for Trade and Agriculture at the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), and is a retired professor at the Department of Agricultural Economics and Rural Development at the University of Göttingen, Germany.
